The cast and crew want to thank all of those that were part of almost four sold-out performances! We are glad that the TROUBLE was resolved in River City, Iowa and that the audiences had so much fun with the cast and crew!
SCA Theatre Students Nominated for Blue Star
果冻视频 (SCA) is pleased to announce that three secondary students were nominated for Starlight Theatre鈥檚 Blue Star Awards for the SCA musical theatre production of Brigadoon.
Starlight鈥檚 annual Blue Star Awards recognize achievement and excellence in musical theatre among Kansas City area high school students. High schools in metropolitan Kansas City and surrounding areas are invited to participate, and each year over 5,000 area students contribute either on the stage or behind the scenes in their school鈥檚 musical theatre production.
Fifty-six musicals participated this year and there are seven nominations for each category. SCA Senior Hannah Wyssmann received two nominations for Senior Rising Star Scholarship and Outstanding Performer in a Lead Role. Ella Jones & Nora Schuh received a nomination for Outstanding Costume Design. All nominations were for the SCA musical theatre production of Brigadoon.

Organizations
SCA Theatre has memberships in the International Thespian Society, Kansas City Cappies, and Blue Star Awards, which encourage our students to fellowship with other theatre students in the KC area, and also give our students opportunities to be recognized by the larger theatre community for their excellence in our productions. In the past, SCA Theatre has won many Cappies awards for acting, singing, set, sound, special effects, makeup, theatre review writing, and stage crew. In 2012, SCA Theatre won a Cappies award for Best Musical for Hello, Dolly! Also in 2024 recipients of the Cappies award from SCA were: Abbie Cook for Choreography for a Musical for Brigadoon, Mackenzie Osborn for Dancer in a Female Role for Brigadoon, and Ella Jones & Nora Schuh for Costumes for a Play for the production of The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe and for the musical Brigadoon. SCA students Weston Stucker & Levi Tomlin were also recognized as Director鈥檚 Commendees for their outstanding contribution to SCA Theatre. SCA senior Hannah Wyssmann also performed Almost Like Being in Love from Brigadoon in the opening medley at the Cappies Gala.
